I had a couple of ideas that I'd wanted to try out. Hopefully, meph doesn't do that "universal-summoning" after he is activated and attacking player A. After this, player B with lvl1 char goes in and hide in another corner. The lifetap will keep the char alive, and meph's life regen will keep him alive. This is easy if you use a zealot with lifetap, no CB and no Grief. Player A with a well-built char goes in and lure meph to one corner, then start killing the minions without killing meph. Hyperthetically, the only way I can think of to level in uber trist is like this: Chaos is cheaper, safer, and much easier to be filled with 8 (even though untrusted) players. So in summary, the exp we got from uber trist using normal (with no "secret") method doesn't seem to justify any superiority over normal chaos runs. It seemed that meph can somehow summon minions based on where you are no matter how far away you're from him. Strangely, as soon as meph was activated and started to summon skeletons around us, 3 were summoned around that lvl1 char. Orphan parked a lvl1 char at the top-right corner of uber trist, and we walked to the lower-left corner, planning to lure meph there. I though they're the same monster, but maybe not.ģ) Obviously meph summons the most minions, so does it work if you hide a lvl1 char in the corner and keep killing meph's minions in another corner? Well, based on what we saw, it didn't work. The other thing I noticed is that the Pit Lord in Furnace of Pain does give exp, only the Pit Lord from uber diablo doesn't. I'm no expert in that, so I couldn't verify that (the Exp columns in MonStats.txt do list some non-zero value, so it's probably something else). Orphan suspects that it's how it's coded in the game data. Each minion seems to give roughly the same amount of exp, but the number is very close to what you get for killing a monster at river of flames.Ģ) The Pit Lord from diablo somehow doesn't give any exp. Out of curiosity, Orphan and I did some tests on this leveling in uber trist thing, and here are few things we found:ġ) You DO get exp by killing summoned minions in uber trist, except for Pit Lords summoned by diablo.
